Zoo trips

Ruby was a lucky girl to get a zoo membership (basically a year pass to Auckland zoo) for xmas, and so far we've been twice. Once with friends and today because Anna won a 'zoo experience' in a raffle at work. Here's the pics...

Copying the big kids and playing on the monkey ropes - nothing holds Ruby back when she spots big kids doing something. It's obviously 'cool' so she must do now!

I've said it before, I'll no doubt say it again... where does time go?? We've moved house, Xmas has been and gone, Ruby's started walking... and I still haven't updated her blog! Well, here goes....

Just before we moved, Ruby re-discovered her shoe fetish. No longer chewing them thank goodness, but fairly ambitious with her sizing...

Daddy's boots.....
Daddy's sandals...Mummy's trainers...Oh yes, and the toilet paper episode. I have to admit that was my fault. In pure desperation on a long trip one day I gave her a roll of toilet paper to play with and she discovered how much fun they could be. Usually tho, a book will keep her occupied for ages, this is how we have learned to get an extra half hour sleep in on the weekend...
And if no books are around, the yellow pages will do (I'm sure it's not quite what they mean by graduating to 'big books' but kids are so literal...) We moved house just before Xmas, and here are my little family discussing the view out over the golf course... Ruby enjoying 'bubble night' in the nice big bath that came with the new house ...Figuring out what to order for dinner. Pity there's no sound with this, as every time she turned a page she said "mmmm" as in "by crikey, that looks good!"Being female, she can, of course, multi-task quite well. Just as well, as the ride-on toy we got her for Xmas came complete with 'cellphone' - what message that is supposed to convey to kids, I dunno, but she figured it out pretty quick. Then transferred her new knowledge to other areas of her life. "Yes, I'll read you a story, but I"m just on the phone at the moment..."Look, did I not say I was on the phone?!'Sigh' ok, just one cute pose, then I must get on with business ok?!

Xmas was an event this year, with Ruby quickly grasping the concept of presents...and hammy photos with unwrapped presents...Not long after Xmas we got a phone call to say her photo was in the NZ Women's Weekly - her Great Nana had submitted it and she was chosen for the issue, which also won her a photo session with pixiefoto. She wasn't so sure about seeing herself in print...

But she was excited about something here - I just can't remember what! She got a set of skittles for Xmas, and these photos are testament to the success of that particular present! One, two, three... throw!Yes, I hit a skittle, check that out!! Oh my gosh - look, it falls over!! What a riot! We're getting a lot of these types of photos at the moment, as cameras are like magnets to her. I was trying to get a shot of her new xmas t-shirt... not very successfully. And butter wouldn't melt, would it ... yeah right!!When all else fails, try a disguise...and try again... (nearly there!)
